Highlights
of "Dragon" released
OpenEra's new Real Portfolio Automation tool, codenamed
"Dragon", which is due for release in January 2007 has
started to take shape. As a taster, OpenEra have release
information about the outline specification of the product
to help potential customers assess the value the new product
will bring to them.
The new version will provide enhanced
services including corporate real estate dashboard and
digital process management that will allow corporate real
estate owners, occupiers and service providers to utilise
industry best practices to streamline their portfolio
management activities and improve the performance of their
assets. It will utilise the latest web services architecture
to provide an improved user experience, faster response
times and more functionality.
A
specification document has been prepared to outline the
improvements. It details a number of important enhancements
such as:

Control of Business Real Assets
(COBRA) common process framework

Multiple portfolio roll-up and
reporting
-
RSS feed integration for immediate
notification of changes to portfolio information

Individual customer sites with full
look and feel customisation
-
Improved access controls, with record
level security permissions
Chief Operating Officer, Dr Wole Wey, commented, “Dragon
will provide a completely new experience for owners,
occupiers and service providers by delivering real-time
information flows on property performance, process
efficiency and risk management. We have built our
specification for this new product based on years of
providing online services to the industry, and now we
believe we will move real estate information management to
the next level when Dragon is released later this year.”
The service is a browser-based facility that requires no
hardware or software to be installed. It will be made
available using a similar on-demand pricing approach used by
OpenEra for its current service range. The service which is
currently undergoing development will be piloted with a
small number of key customers prior to its launch in Q1
2007.
The current OpenEra Real Estate Information Manager is an
online information management solution that allows users to
share information and documentation about their property
portfolio. It provides a single point for clients, their
agents and their suppliers to access, update and maintain
information about the portfolio and provide real-time
information on the performance of the portfolio. It has a
flexible, powerful reporting engine combined with an online
document repository that offers full-text indexing and
searching of any documentation related to the portfolio.
